This, from my buddy Dan...
Two questions:
1) Have you seen the Jersey Shore Snooki punch?
2) Have you played Street Fighter II?
Thanks, Dan!

Official Dead Rising 2 Trailer Hits!
Finally, we get a proper game trailer. Can't wait for this one. I just love the sense of humor in this series.
I also love the following things about this trailer:
• The use of death metal in contrast to dinner music
• The use of a moose head
• Ability to relax and enjoy a stiff drink
• The use of chainsaws and a motorcycle
Other things too, but those things really get me going.
So! What do YOU think...?
Thanks to 1Up

Latest From Game Rankings: RE5 Is Strong
A total of 15 reviews are tabulated here, and it appears that either Capcom is buying a hell of a lot of advertising (wink, wink) or they have a pretty damn good game on their hands -- even without Mikami at the wheel.
RESIDENT EVIL 5 FOR XBOX 360
84.87%

The PlayStation 3 version of the game is coming in at 83.79%, so no one can really bitch about getting an inferior version.
Game Rankings is an awesome, all-in-one source for video game reviews, check them out.

Resident Evil 5 Collector's Edition Is Kind Of Bad-Ass

Did you snag one of these? Usually I'm about as much a fan of these "special edition" games as I am extended washing machine warranties, but I have to admit -- for $89.99, you do get a sweet little package. Click on the picture to get a super close-up view!
Available for both the 360 and PS3.

Resident Evil 5: American Launch Vs. Japanese Launch
Here's what the line looked like in Japan, as people waited for Resident Evil 5*:

Here's what the line looks like tonight in the U.S., as people wait for Resident Evil 5:
All kidding aside, in case you were not aware, the video game retail environment in Japan is a hundred times more dynamic than it is here in America. When a hot new game launches in Japan, retailers in the Akihabara district (the country's electronics mecca) pull out all the stops.
I struggled to find any pics of people waiting in line here in the states, but I did find a whole mess of completely awesome photos from the Japanese launch earlier this month. Just look at these photos!

The bottom one is actually from a different game launch (Namco's Tales of Vesparia), but I wanted to show you just how dedicated Japanese gamers can be.
More Resident Evil 5 coverage to come...
* Referred to as Biohazard 5 in Japan

Resident Evil 5 Reviews Start Coming In
Capcom's newest installment of survivor horror hits shelves tonight at midnight! Resident Evil 5 is a big one, and word from U.K. and North American gaming contacts is now starting to trickle in.So how well is the game is being received? I tracked down all available Xbox 360 reviews (as of Wednesday, 3/11, 11:00PM EST), and here's the rundown so far:
RESIDENT EVIL 5 (XBOX 360)
IGN: 9 OUT OF 10
"The creepy suspense of the earlier games has been replaced with an action-packed intensity that will instantly appeal to some gamers and disappoint others."
MS XBOX WORLD: 9 out of 10
"The term survival horror and Resident Evil might have become somewhat blurry, but as a game in its own right, RE5 is a spectacle to behold. It's not too far from Resident Evil 4's pacing and style, and the added return to co-op play as seen in RE0 is very welcome..."
GAME PLANET: 8.5 out of 10
"Great pacing, tons of excitement and great action. Co-op ads a new layer of strategy and tension. For a Resident Evil game, it's not very scary."
TOTAL VIDEO GAMES: 8 out of 10
"The sheer emphasis on action, coupled with the dated gameplay mechanics and inability to show any advance beyond the Resident Evil 4 blueprint is possible to overlook if you're happy with state-of-the-art visuals and zombie slaying."
VIDEOGAMER: 9 out of 10
"Doesn't quite have the magic of RE4..."
EUROGAMER: 7 out of 10
"[Resident Evil 5] might not be the game that the traditionalist might have hoped for, but still stands out as hugely enjoyable in its own right."
XBOX MAGAZINE UK: 8 out of 10
OFFICIAL XBOX MAGAZINE: 9 out of 10
GAMEPRO: 4.5 out of 5
GAME RANKINGS* AVERAGE: 84.6%
Other items of note. It appears that the PlayStation 3 version is faring similarly in the review category; I found only a couple of score differences and they were negligible. Japanese gamers have had 360 and PS3 versions of the game -- known as Biohazard 5 -- since March 4 when it was released in that country. Shinji Mikami, father and creator of the Biohazard/Resident Evil series left Capcom after RE4, and many fans have wondered how his absence would affect this sequel. Mikami himself stated in an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, quote, "I won't like it, because it's not going to be the game I would have made. It'll just cause me stress if I play it. If I see anything in Resident Evil 5 that isn't done well, I'll be angry!" I guess we'll have to wait for the rest of the reviews to come in to know for sure whether these concerns were founded.
I'll try to stay on top of RE5 for the next few days, so check back!
Oh, and if you get a copy in the meantime, let us know what you think -- click "comments" below!

UPDATE!
8:00AM EST
I removed the "RE5 Countdown to Release" widget this morning, as it did not seem to be keeping proper time. All you need to remember is that the game will be available tomorrow, Friday the 13th (Oooo...!). Some select retail outlets plan to open their doors at midnight tonight for those who can't wait till morning.

Dead Rising 2
I was just talking games with a co-worker the other day and one of the things I brought up was, "Where's Dead Rising 2?" The original Dead Rising is still one of my favorite Xbox 360 games. It was also an exclusive title for the 360 and sold like a bazillion copies, so Capcom would surely want to ride that gravy train, right?
Well, I'll be! Here it is!

This time around, the setting is Vegas and it looks really good. Apparently Capcom has been quietly working on it for some time now. I would imagine the company wants to stagger the release away from Resident Evil 5 (another zombie-themed game.) DR2 will feature more zombies on screen at once and more interactive items (ie; weapons). Plus, you can roll over zombies while inside a giant hamster ball, and who doesn't want to do that?
There's also some video footage which just leaked to the Net. Check it out:
Dead Rising 2 will be available in Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC formats. I haven't been able to pin down a release date but when I do, I will update.
Should be fun! Can't wait!
